also aware of the needs of blind and partially sighted guests and are happy to
assist in any way. We have a large print menu and can help with your selection
of breakfast if required.
For the hard of hearing booking can be done either
online, via the E-mail, fax or telephone where applicable
Please notify us
of any special requirements when booking so we can make the necessary

possible.
Entrance to barn is up two steps (a portable ramp approx. 1:12 is available) into the guest lounge. Leading off the lounge is the twin room (detailed below). Once inside the barn, there are no steps in the guest accommodation, apart from stairs to the family room. From the lounge, there is level access to a level decked area with seating overlooking the large garden. The decking then leads down a gentle slope to another sitting area with level access to a spacious double room (as detailed below).
Access to the dining room in the house is across a solid surfaced yard, on to a short brick path, just wide enough for a wheelchair, into the kitchen (doorway 82cm) with level access into the dining room. Margaret and David are happy to serve breakfast to wheelchair users in the barn lounge, if that is their preference.
The car park is at the rear of the B&B, adjacent to the barn. The surface is concrete. On the shared drive leading to the concrete, there is a graveled surface. Once at the front, the pathway is tarmac.
Twin bedded room (435cm x 300 cm min) specifically designed for wheelchair users: spacious bathroom (275cm x 183 cm) with 'roll in' level access shower, with grab handles and shower stool.
Double room ( 542 cm x 310 cm) with king size bed. The en suite bathroom (306cm x 140cm) has a shower with a 28 cm step up into it. Grab handle in shower enclosure.

In September 2006 we had the chance to spend a few days at Chaplin House, in Lincolnshire.
We picked it from [...] and I must say I was not disappointed. A wonderful
place, well-suited for the disabled, with all the comfort and supplying all the necessities
for disabled people.
Starting with access and ending with the tips for a pleasant stay, we were absolutely charmed.
Being myself disabled and a professional(GP and geriatrician), I can vouch for the excellence
of the place and those wonderful people who manage it - Margaret and David.
Highly recommended!
Thank you all, Dr. Carmen Axel
Dear Margaret
The accommodation you provided ranks in our minds as one of the best for myself, a wheelchair
user and my husband.
The bathroom was well planned and the beds the right height and comfortable.
Whilst the steps looked a little daunting, the ramp which was promptly produced solved the
problem of access. Similarly, the access to the breakfast room, which was tight, was easily
negotiated with willing help from our hosts.
The breakfast was wonderful. Just thinking of it makes me salivate! Throughout, our hosts
could not have been more friendly and helpful, beginning with the tea and cake welcome on
arrival, which was considerably later than intended, and too late to have a meal locally.
Thank you and good luck for the future.
Best regards, Avril C
